Aims of the declaration:
1. Saving the natural habitats of protected rare species and water birds and colonies of 5 endangered species incl. in The Red book of Bulgaria

Current prohibitions and regimes:
1. It is prohibited construction, and any other activities that modify the natural appearance of the site or its water system
2. It is prohibited the destruction of marsh vegetation, burning of the cane etc.
3. It is prohibited pollution of the marsh waters and adjacent areas
4. It is prohibited hunting and fishing;
5. It is prohibited harassment of birds during the breeding season, breaking the nests, collecting of the eggs and their young
6. It is permitted events to maintain the natural water level in the swamp
7. It is permitted extraction of sand and cane after additional co-ordination
