1. Conservation of natural habitat of protected and rare bird species, included in Bulgaria's Red Book and in the list of endangered species in Europe;

Current prohibitions and regimes:
1. It is prohibited any construction, disclosure of quarries and other activities that modify the natural appearance or the water regime of the site
2. It is prohibited any kind of felling, except cultivating and sanitary during the period 1 August- 30 December
3. It is prohibited grazing of goats
4. It is prohibited to collect herbs and to pick flowers;
5. It is prohibited to carry out hunting activities all year long
6. It is prohibited harassment of nesting birds, taking the eggs or ringing their young
7. It is prohibited building of hurbor installations;
8. It is prohibited fishing in the swamp area and the aquatic environment in the period from 1 March to 30 July;
