Aims of the declaration:
1. Protection of the humid zone near the river Maritza, a habitat of multiple threatened with extinction and protected plant and animal species, such as the white water lily, Pygmy Cormorant, Bittern, Whooper Swan, water birds, European Pond Turtle.

Current prohibitions and regimes:
1. It is prohibited new construction;
2. It is rohibited extraction of inert materials;
3. It is prohibited drawing of water level drop below 1.5 m from the ridge of the island № 10;
4. It is prohibited setting on fire the cane and reed-mace massifs without consultation with MOEW;
5. It is prohibited cultivating and sanitary felling in the forest plantations;
6. It is prohibited to change the purpose and the use of the lands of the islands;
7. It is prohibited to demise for use the lands and water tanks witout consultation with MOEW;
8. It is prohibited to carry out hunting activities;
