Aims of the declaration:
1. Preservation of a characteristic forest landscape developed on the slopes of the Rhodope peak of the same name, as well as the provision of a buffer territory limiting anthropogenic impact around the northwestern border of the "Beglika" reserve, preserving valuable examples of spruce ecosystems, rare and endangered animal and plant species;
2. Habitat protection for conservation-sensitive species such as brown bear (Ursus arctos), wolf (Canis lupus), otter (Lutra lutra), three-toed woodpecker (Picoides tridactylus), capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus), hazel grouse (Tetrastes bonasia), long-eared owl (Aegolius funereus), little owl (Glaucidium passerinum) and other conservation-sensitive species.

Current prohibitions and regimes:
1. It is prohibited change in the purpose and method of permanent use of the properties, with the exception of technical infrastructure and those permitted under Section V of the Forestry Act, which provides for cases in which the purpose may be changed for the purpose of building infrastructure facilities of national importance, commercial and non-commercial purposes, ensuring access to prevent accidents, etc.;
2. It is prohibited construction and installation of facilities, movable objects, with the exception of those permitted under Section IV and Article 152 of the Forestry Act, facilities for the protection and maintenance of plant species habitats;
3. It is prohibited prospecting, exploration and extraction of underground resources;
4. It is prohibited landfilling, warehousing and temporary storage of waste and soil;
5. It is prohibited introduction and intentional spread of non-native and alien plant and animal species.
