Aims of the declaration:
1. Protection of venerable forests, mainly composed of common beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) and common chestnut (Castanea sativa Mill.), And plane-natural habitats;
2. Conservation of protected and endemic plant species, such as common yew (Taxus baccata L.), thornleave holly (Ilex aquifolium L.), mountain maple (Acer heldreichii Orph. Ex Boiss.), Karst alfalfa (Medicago carstiensis Jacq. Ssp. Belassitzae Koz .) Alb
3. Conservation of protected and endemic animal species such as white-backed woodpecker (Dendrocopos leucotos lilfordi Bechstein), black woodpecker (Dryocopos martius L.) and others.;

Current prohibitions and regimes:
1. It is prohibited to carry out lumbering, with the exception of sanitary lumbering, in the sections of the nature reserve, including sectors 5 (з, и, к, л, м), 6 (к), 9 (д, е), 10 (д, е, ж, з, и), 11 (д, е), 92, 95, 96, 97 (а), 100, 101 (в, г, д, е) under the forestry project of the National Forestry.
2. It is prohibited to import plant and animal species which are uncharacteristic for the region.
3. It is prohibited to graze goats освен на определени за това места;
4. It is prohibited to collect fossils and minerals, to damage the rock formations.
5. It is prohibited to pollute the waters and terrains with domestic, industrial, and other waste.
6. It is prohibited to camp and start fires outside the designated areas.
7. It is prohibited to extract minerals using the open method.
8. It is prohibited to extract and to pretreat metal minerals by applying the chemical and chemical-bacteriological methods and cyanids.
9. It is prohibited to carry out all activities and construction, which are not allowed by the park orders and regultaions, the park management plan, and the management and technical plans and projects.
10. It is prohibited to collect rare, endemic, relict, and protected species, except for scientific purposes.
11. It is prohibited to carry out other activities, determined by the order for declaring the protected territory and by the management plan.
