Aims of the declaration:
1. Conservation of protected and endemic plant species such as Haberlea rhodopensis, Seseli rhodopeum, Galanthus nivalis L., Sedum kostovi, Campanula lanata.
2. Conservation of protected and endemic animal species such as Lutra lutra - otter, Rupicapra rupicapra balcanica - wild goat, Ursus arctos - brown bear, Lucanus cervus - beetle.
3. Protection of the natural habitats of bay forests containing Alnus glutinosa and Fraxinus excelsior;

Current prohibitions and regimes:
1. It is prohibited pulling down, digging of soil and any other activities which disfigure the natural landscape;
2. It is prohibited new construction;
3. It is prohibited change of the river-bed or pollution in any way;
4. It is prohibited to pick protected plants;
5. It is prohibited making fire outside the defined places;
6. It is prohibited shooting with explosives;
7. It is prohibited fish stocking with nonresidential fish species;
8. It is prohibited to carry out clear felling, as well as to lumber single hollow trees;
9. It is prohibited afforestation with unlocal for the region plant species;
10. It is prohibited to settle in nonresidential for the region animal species;
11. It is prohibited to prune, break branches, damage the stalks and any other activities, which might lead to damaging or destroying the ancient trees.
