Aims of the declaration:
1. Protection of the habitats of protected and rare species of waterfowl and plant associations of 40 species of higher plants.

Current prohibitions and regimes:
1. It is prohibited construction, and any other activities that modify the natural appearance of the site or its water system
2. It is prohibited the destruction of marsh vegetation, burning of cane and others.
3. It is prohibited pollution of the marsh waters and adjacent areas
4. It is prohibited hunting;
5. It is rohibited harassment of birds during the breeding season, breaking the nests and collecting eggs
6. It is prohibited to bring in and breed species of vertebrates without permission from the Committee on Environmental Protection and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
7. It is permitted reasonable use of water for irrigation and measures to maintain the natural water level in the swamp
8. It is permitted restoration of ichthyofauna;
9. It is permitted sport fishing in the shore of the lake during the period August 1 to March 30
10. I is permitted grazing with shepherd of sheep and cattle only in adjacent meadows
